Hi, I'm scott

I like to write.

I used to get paid for it. But now it's just a hobby. I'm a Seattle-based author who has a background as a journalist but was politely asked to change careers (thanks, newspaper biz!) in 2013. I had a 3-year-old and a five-month-old at the time, yet I found time to go back to school, write a non-fiction book that got published by University of Nebraska Press and do the stay-at-home dad thing. I have since become an Addiction Specialist who has been in the field of Substance Abuse recovery since 2016. I always said that my two passions -- writing and addiction recovery -- would one day intertwine. My most recent piece of fiction, "Until the Caterpillar Flies," is  the first intersection of my two roads. I learned from my non-fiction book, "Phog," that getting published takes a lot more time and energy than I expected. So, for now, I've decided to publish my fiction online and hope that somebody enjoys it!

PHOG

My first published work, PHOG, is the story of the original basketball coach and his dream of taking his mentor's game and bringing it to the masses.
